Approximate inference
METHODS TO DEVELOP REALISTIC MODELS FROM BIG DATA
Approximate Inference
Approximate inference methods make it possible to learn realistic models from big data by trading off computation time for accuracy, when exact learning and inference are computationally intractable.
Approximate entropy
  • Illustration of the Heart Rate Sequence
In statistics, an approximate entropy (ApEn) is a technique used to quantify the amount of regularity and the unpredictability of fluctuations over time-series data.
Approximate fibration
In algebraic topology, a branch of mathematics, an approximate fibration is a sort of fibration such that the homotopy lifting property holds only approximately. The notion was introduced by Coram and Duvall in 1977.
Approximate limit
In mathematics, the approximate limit is a generalization of the ordinary limit for real-valued functions of several real variables.
Approximate Bayesian computation
COMPUTATIONAL METHOD USED TO ESTIMATE THE POSTERIOR DISTRIBUTIONS OF MODEL PARAMETERS
Approximate Bayesian Computation; Approximate bayesian computation; ABC inference
Approximate Bayesian computation (ABC) constitutes a class of computational methods rooted in Bayesian statistics that can be used to estimate the posterior distributions of model parameters.
Board of estimate
A board of estimate is a governing body in many counties and municipalities, particularly in the United States.
General Services Support Estimate
The General Services Support Estimate (GSSE) is an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) indicator of the annual monetary value of gross transfers of general services provided to agriculture collectively, arising from policy measures that support agriculture, regardless of their nature, objectives and impacts on farm production, income, or consumption of farm products. Examples include research and development, education, infrastructure, and marketing and promotion programs.

Raygor readability estimate

The Raygor estimate graph is a readability metric for English text. It was developed by Alton L. Raygor, who published it in 1977.

The US grade level is calculated by the average number of sentences and letters per hundred words. These averages are plotted onto a specific graph where the intersection of the average number of sentences and the average number of letters/word determines the reading level of the content. Note that this graph is very similar to the Fry readability formula's graph.

This graph is primarily used in secondary education to help classify teaching materials and books into their appropriate reading groups.
